The Lunatic is back for another year of being stomped. Delusional and sleep-deprived, the Lunatic is not ready to give up his imaginary belief that he can be a great predictor of college basketball games. Thus, the Lunatic is back for more punishment. He will do his best to put up lots of competition. But all of us know that March can only mean one thing. It must be time to STOMP THE LUNATIC!!!!
Here are the basic rules. This is a standard bracket contest - you pick who you think will win each game of the NCAA Tournament. Although the NCAA has expanded the pool, we will not pick the first 4 games - only the final 64 teams in the tournament. These first round games start on Thursday, March 21st (based on previous years, usually around Noon EST). Unlike a standard bracket contest, there are two ways to win: the Standard Pool and the Upset Pool. Because there are two ways to win, a person can have up to 2 entries. Those entries will also give the person one entry into the second chance pool. There are so many ways to win, it is just crazy. That is, unless you are the Lunatic - who is about to be stomped!
Please enter your name, phone number and e-mail address and hit the register button below. This serves the important purpose of giving me contact information in case it is necessary for the pool. But your name and e-mail address will also serve as your log-in to the contest. Once you register, it will lead you to the normal entry page that will allow you to enter your picks. Then, when you submit your picks, it will lead you to a page that lets you enter a second bracket, as well as view and update your picks.
Important note: Even if you have entered in previous years, it is necessary for you to register for the new year. This is because it makes it easier for me to maintain as well as makes it so that you don't have to try to remember what e-mail you used last year...
Second important note: Please only enter contact information below. You will get a chance when you enter your picks to come up with a fun, entertaining name for your bracket. But I need the actual name and contact information here. I use this to track payments of entry fees (if I get a check from Tom Hodgson, I might not realize that "Crazed Lunatic" or "TH is the winner" is really the person that just paid me). I also use this contact information to congratulate leaders in the pool on the blog. Finally, this information is used to log back in to fill out your second chance pool, and it is a lot easier to remember your actual name instead of the nickname "Gonna Stomp the Lunatic"
