{"id":571,"date":"2013-04-09T02:33:26","date_gmt":"2013-04-09T02:33:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.tehodgson.com\/stompthelunatic\/?p=571"},"modified":"2013-04-09T02:33:26","modified_gmt":"2013-04-09T02:33:26","slug":"benches-on-fire","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.tehodgson.com\/stompthelunatic\/?p=571","title":{"rendered":"Benches on fire!!!!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>One of the things that I love about college basketball is the unpredictability that happens because of the amazing passion that the players come out with.\u00a0 And it can make for some incredible story lines.<\/p>\n<p>Leading up to the game, all eyes were on whether or not Trey Burke &#8211; college player of the year &#8211; could lead the Wolverines against the incredible pressure defense.\u00a0 Then, Burke gets two fouls relatively quickly &#8211; and reserve Spike Albrecht comes in.\u00a0 Albrecht averages a little over 7 minutes and scores 1.8 points per game.\u00a0 So, everyone has to expect that Spike would come out and hit 4 three pointers on the way to 17 points, leading the Wolverines to a 12 point lead.<\/p>\n<p>But then, as the Cardinals did on Saturday, Louisville came charging back.\u00a0 But was it Russ Smith &#8211; no.\u00a0\u00a0 The person who led the Cardinals back was reserve Luke Hancock &#8211; who hit four three pointers of his own to score 16 and bring the Cardinals back.<\/p>\n<p>And so, after a crazy first half of runs, we are left with the Wolverines nursing a 1 point lead.\u00a0 And if the first half is any sign, we can honestly say that anyone in a jersey could end up being the hero over the last 20 minutes of the season.\u00a0 All I know is it should be a fun finish!!!!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>One of the things that I love about college basketball is the unpredictability that happens because of the amazing passion that the players come out with.\u00a0 And it can make for some incredible story lines.
