This page is dedicated to those looking for statistics, research and analytics to help you predict the tournament. As you all know, it is a tradition by the Lunatic to provide you all the schedules from all the games. At some point, I would love to extend this page to have more details. I think about the idea of getting box scores, rosters, play-by-play data and the statistician in me gets super excited. And then the reality sets in that it takes a ton of work to gather all that data (and make sure it is accurate.
All of the team level game summaries will be loaded here - which we have been gathering since 2013. I also have all the cheat sheets that we create once the tournament is setup. Then, I have added some really good external sites to look at for college basketball stats. I will include the NCAA Statistics Home, which is where I find the majority of my information. I figure that they are providing the Selection Committee information, so I might as well get the data directly from the source. Finally, when we get down to the Final 4, I will load the popular scenarios pages here so that you can check what champion can lead you to the best finish in the pool.
NCAA Statistics Website - this is the NCAA official site for all stats, inclusing NET Reports
NCAA NET Rankings - this is the main statistical model the selection committee usesKen Pomeroy's Basketball Rankings - he is considered one of the premier college basketball statisticians - with ratings based on points per possession
ESPN's BPI Basketball Rankings - Not a fan of the ESPN statistics team but their BPI and Strength of Record rankings both show up on the NCAA Team Sheets
Bart Torvik's Basketball Analytics Website - I have read from other sites that this is a great site of fun statistics.
Sports Reference College Basketball Site - Lots of general statistics, stat leaders, history of the polls, box scores, etc.
