I can see why Miami (OH) went 31-0. Even if you are a good defensive team, it is tough to guard a team that is going to shoot 41 three-point shots. When they did go inside the three point line, they were extremely efficient – going 13 – 23. That is just tough – you stop the drive and they just kick it out. And they are not afraid of shooting it from deep.

Add into it that the fans in Dayton were ready to explode whenever one of the three-pointers went down, and that lead to the Redhawks winning 89-79 over SMU to win their first NCAA Tournament games since 1999. The fans were so crazy, there was even a point where a bunch of them came out in speedos to try to distract the free throw shooter (which he did miss to delight the crowd).
