  1. Somehow my code never quite works right from one year to the next and I need to remember how it all works and retweek to get running. Well, that is done, and, here I am, and argh!!–how crushing…the seeders basically got it all right. I have two tiny inversions in the second round. And other than that it is all favorites straight through to the final four. I hate years like this.

I feel like the bracketologists must be using something really similar to my system to have come within a whiskers breadth–it simply would not happen using win/loss record or real understanding.

Posting an all favorites bracket is such an ego deflater. (well, unless I get those two tiny “upsets” right (which is like a 1 in 4 chance) in which case I can pretend I was brilliant).

Life always feels like it is on the edge of brightness and glory only to find mediocrity at the last moment.

Well, I will revel in my mediocrity.

Actually, maybe, I can now go into the bracketology business–now that the bracket folks are seem to be using a B-T model as their main engine. All I have to do is actually learn the bracket rules and get the team placed in the correct geographies.

So, Tom, do yu want to create a pool for picking the brackets right? I think I might have a chance of doing that pretty well.

    Good luck everyone.

Thank you so much for such an exciting, and now disappointing night. You give me my year’s high and my year’s low.

  2. OK, just ran my simulator–I ran a million tournaments using my probability model. My score (using Lunatic scoring rules of 10,20,40,80,120,160) has a 10%-90% range of 530 to 1030. I score 1600 1 time in a million. The perfect score is 1680. Tough game to max out on. -Bill
